After Colombia took an early 1–0 lead, Mexico continued to look for a way back into the game. In the 62nd minute, Mora stepped up and delivered. After receiving the ball from Jesús Gallardo, the 17-year-old made a move past the Colombian defense before finding the bottom corner with his right foot to make it 1–1.

The goal marked Mora’s first senior international goal with Mexico and came in his first appearance wearing the No. 10 shirt. At just 17 years old, Mora became the youngest player to score for Mexico’s senior national team.

Mexico would go on to finish the match with a 1–1 draw against Colombia at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore. While Mexico were unable to find a second goal, Mora’s finish gave the team the equalizer and provided one of the biggest moments of the night.

For Mora, the goal was another important step in his young international career and a moment that Mexican soccer fans will remember.
