The Red Bulls broke the deadlock in the 57th minute after Julian Hall took advantage of an underhit back pass from James Sands. Hall rounded Matt Freese before finishing into the empty net to give the visitors the lead.
NYCFC continued to push for an equalizer. Thiago Martins came close with a header in the 81st minute, but Red Bulls goalkeeper Ethan Horvath saved it to keep his team ahead.
Despite the late pressure, NYCFC could not find the equalizer as the Red Bulls held on for the 1-0 victory.
The result moves NYCFC to an 8-10-8 record and leaves the club in ninth place in the Eastern Conference with 32 points.
This was also NYCFC's final MLS regular-season match at Yankee Stadium in 2026. The club will return to action on September 26 against Atlanta United.
