Stony Brook Seawolves pulled off a huge comeback win last night, turning a 4–2 halftime deficit into a strong 12–7 victory over Hofstra Pride. It was a slow start for the Seawolves, but everything changed in the second half. After the break, Stony Brook came out with way more energy and completely took control of the game. They outscored Hofstra 10–3 in the second half, flipping the momentum and never looking back. A big reason for that was Robbie Smith, who dominated at the faceoff. He won 15 out of 19 draws, giving Stony Brook constant possession and keeping Hofstra’s offense off the field.
With the ball in their sticks, players like Caleb Yeung helped lead a key 4–0 run that put the game out of reach. The offense started clicking, the defense tightened up, and everything came together at the right time.
In the end, it was a complete turnaround performance by Stony Brook. The win gives them an early edge in the Battle of Long Island and a perfect 1–0 start in the conference.
